Safety Driveshaft Tunnel

West Coast has taken every precaution to protect you.

Notice the 1/8" steel tunnel that encloses the driveshaft and where the driveshaft is located in relationship as to where you are sitting. It is right beside you! The driveshaft is only 16" long. Because the driveshaft is so short, if either the front or rear universal joint would fail, the driveshaft would start whipping only a couple of inches from your hip. A fiberglass tunnel even with a safety strap would not keep the driveshaft from attacking you. A safety strap will work on a normal length driveshaft but will not retain a short driveshaft.
