4 - wheel Power disc Brakes is standard equipment on all our cars today
Brakes are very important to us. We wanted a brake system that was bearable to drive on the street (power brakes) and was capable to taking everything we could give it on the race track. We wanted to have the best brake system we (and customers) could come up with for all our customers. We don't have a get by brake system (donor car) as standard equipment and then an optional brake system that cost hundreds of dollars more for others.
West Coast has designed our own braking system. We could not use a system designed for another car and expect it to work on ours that is balanced totally different. Because we did not believe that someone else's brake system would work properly on one of our cars, we spent 3 months of engineering and testing, using on board computer testing equipment & video to come up with our own system. West Coast believes you need an above average brake system on this type of car because of the power and the capability of reaching high speeds far quicker than other cars.
We use new spindles. We designed the brackets mounted to the spindles to receive the HD brake calipers that are capable of taking the pressure generated by the power brake booster. We also use carbon metallic brake pads.
