Roll Bar & Fuel Cell

Fuel Cell & Roll Bar

West Coast supplies you with a safety fuel cell as standard equipment not as an expensive option.

This picture shows you the size and location of our safety fuel cell in relationship to the rear end. It mounts directly over the rear end. This adds the weight (approx. 7 lbs. per gallon) directly over the rear tires to improve the traction and handling. This also allow us to have a spacious trunk to carry luggage for two or two sets of golf clubs. Many of our customers take trips out of town or want to take their Cobra to the golf course. I would rather put my golf clubs in the trunk than in the passenger seat because if I took a right hand turn too fast, they would probably come flying at me as I'm driving.

As standard equipment, West Coast supplies you with a full chrome plated 2.5" dia. x .125 wall roll bar attached to the frame and not the body like most of the other Cobra replicas today. There are holes in our body for the roll bar to go thru but it does not even touch the body!

Why do we run a full roll bar rather than a single hoop?

The main reason is that we should be more concerned for our passengers safety than our own. Your passenger has no control over what is happening nor do they have the advantage of hanging on the the steering wheel in the event of a roll over. Your passenger is usually someone you care about.

Some companies only supply you a roll bar as an option. A lot of companies have the roll bar mounted to the fiberglass and some companies will charge you extra to have the roll bar even attached to the frame.

Look at the picture of the original design frame and ask yourself this: if there is no frame where the roll bar should be mounted, how do they do it?

Some companies, if they actually do mount the roll bar to the frame, only mount one end (the inside post) of the roll bar to the frame.
When doing your research, find out if that Company supplies the roll bar with the kit or is it an option, is it attached to the frame and does it come chrome plated? Our cost of chrome plating a roll bar is $160.00
