Since building my West Coast Cobra there has been no turning back. It was on Sunday the 25th of May 1991, my Cobra was completed, licensed, insured and ready to go. Driving my Cobra for the first time was just as people say "A Dream Come True". The car was perfect in every aspect, handling, cornering, acceleration and braking. I can remember my heart beating fast, palms were sweating and I could feel my forhead pulsating. It was very similar to "A First Love" all over again.
During this summer my wife Vicki and I drove our Cobra 3500 miles (weekends) to 20 car shows. Of all the shows the trip of the year was the two day Cobra Shootout competition in Columbus Ohio followed by the International Kit Car Show in Cincinnati Ohio. Competing against 41 other Cobras and coming in 21st in a two day racing event is a rare occurrancethat will not be forgotten.
Looking back this summer at all the car shows with the competitions, meeting new people and trophy winning I have to admit my greatest reward is when I am driving my West Coast Cobra out of the show and a spectator shouts out "Best Car in the Show" or "Number One" with thumbs up. This happened to us 17 of the 20 car shows.
I would like to say special thanks to the West Coast Cobra people for making "A Dream Come True" or as I like to refer to my Cobra "A First Love" happening all over again.
